Trust Your Instincts
Finally, don’t underestimate the power of personality. As you conduct contractor interviews, try to get a feel for how you might get along with each individual. And trust your instincts! Keep in mind that for the duration of the project, this will be the person you will greet first thing in the morning and as you arrive home each night. The contractor and his or her crew will be in your “space” for a large part of the day. You must be able to communicate effectively with each other and be able to handle any problems that arise.
